ANNOUNCING- The [Bella Bambino Gives Back] program.

I am so excited to announce the new [Bella Bambino Gives Back] program! My sunday morning coffee this morning is going to focus on defining this program and its purpose. I feel so blessed and fortunate to be able to do what I absolutely love everyday as a career- that I want to give back. I have always had a special place in my heart for volunteering and helping others. I thought that it would be an amazing idea to combine my passion for photography with my passion for helping others. I have done numerous pro-bono shoots in the past, but I wanted to create a program that actually offered pro-bono shoots on a regular basis.

Through [Bella Bambino Gives Back] I will take on one pro-bono shoot a month. I will be taking request through my site from either individuals themselves or friends and family of individuals who are candidates for the [Bella Bambino Gives Back] program. Candidates could be individuals of any age who would benefit from having fine-art images free of charge. For example, deserving individuals who normally would not be able to afford my services or individuals who are sick or disabled. I am also a member of NILMDTS ( now i lay me down to sleep ) which is an organization that offers infant bereavement photography. Feel free to check out their site www.nilmdts.com. Part of the [Bella Bambino Gives Back] program will offer bereavement photography to people who would like to capture memories of someone who has a terminal illness as well as infant bereavement.

To nominate an individual or family for the [Bella Bambino Gives Back] program please contact me via email at sheri@bellabambinophotography.com or directly through my site. You can also call the Cape Girardeau studio at 573.651.4408 or the Charles Town Studio at 304.724.6555.

an abandoned warehouse [a senior feature]

This is one of my favorite senior shoots to date. This fabulous lady was so edgy and non-conventional that I had to match her environment to her personality. We found this amazing abandoned warehouse and you would have thought I found a  pot full of diamonds. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited. I love urban, grundgy environments- especially because her delicate, beautiful look counterbalanced that so well! Here is a montage of the art produced from our excursion. ENJOY!

a feature of CANDICE’s work [the bella bambino charles town branch]

Candice, my Charles Town photograher has been producing absolutely amazing art with every shoot that she performs. I am so proud of her for the  true artist that she has become over the past 6 months. Her clients have been raving about her and I have decided that Candice needs a weekly feature of her work on the blog! Every Friday- favorites from the Charles Town branch will be posted! Candice has been so incredibly busy and we are thankful for the continued patronage of our past and new clients on the east coast! Here is to you CANDICE and CHARLES TOWN!

a sweet baby girl….on her first birthday [a sneak peak]

This is for this sweet baby’s mother- who I KNOW is a faithful blog reader!!! I knew you would be checking, so I decided to give you just one little sneak peak!! This baby girl has the spunkiest spirit! She was an absolute joy to photograph and I am so happy that I actually was able to spend a portion of her first birthday with her! We got pretty messy with a cake- and I will post WAY more after her parents see them! ENJOY!

I AM A PROFESSOR!!!! …….well….not really, but…..kinda!

I was asked to teach a class at the local college- It is just a two day class about how to take better pictures of your kids. I was so excited that my class was OVER full. My limit was supposed to be 12 and we let 16 in! The first day was held at SEMO University campus and today- the finale was held at my studio today. I taught about the basics- and how to produce fabulous images of your kiddos- so your photo albums and scrapbooks look WAYYYYY better! We covered things like, natural lighting and best times to shoot, composition, we touched on exposure and the importance of shutter speed, ISO and aperture control- how to get your kiddos to look at the camera- or just how to capture them doing what they do! Today was more hands-on in the studio. We practiced applying what we learned and actually had some cute models to practice on. It was a really fun experience!! Here is a shot from the classroom night! I just like saying that I taught college…..even if it was for just 2 days!!! =)

The URBAN COWBOY

OH MY GOODNESS- I loved this shoot SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much- I cannot even describe it. Sometimes a shoot just captures the exact essence you are hoping to. This session truly showcases both the beauty and spirit of this little boy, as well as the exact style that I attempt to display during every shoot. ENJOY this little URBAN COWBOY!

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child.  Reagan stated, “A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies.  It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members… “  To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.
